Daphne Event Guide

Depending on the time of year that you find yourself in Daphne, there are quite a few different events and fun things to do. As its population grows, Daphne is continually working to attract nationally known touring performance groups while at the same time building up its own community programs and events schedules. Whether you're looking for an organized day of family fun or a nice outdoor excursion, you should have no trouble finding just the thing when you're in Daphne.

The annual Easter Egg Hunt is a great family activity that brings folks from all over Daphne and the surrounding area. The children of Daphne look forward to this event all year, and it has grown over the years to include much more than just Easter Eggs. In fact, the list of activities for the day includes a petting zoo, pony rides, food stands, face painting and an opportunity for pictures with the Easter Bunny himself.

Of course, to catch the Easter Egg Hunt, you'll have to be in Daphne for Easter weekend. However, there are lots of other fun events to take part in throughout the year in this charming city. One great activity is the Brown Bag at the Bay live music events that take place every Thursday in April, May, September and October. Held at May Day Pier, the concerts that are a part of this series generally last from 11:30am to 1:30pm and feature performers from all types of musical traditions.

The month of June is a fun one in Daphne as well with the addition of Wet N' Wild Wednesdays to the calendar. Every Wednesday in June, kids ages 2 to 12 will be able to enjoy all kinds of water activities including slip n' slides, water slides and wading pools to help them keep cool and have fun on hot Alabama afternoons. This is a great family activity and is put on by the City of Daphne with help from Miller's Grand Events.

This is just a sampling of the many fun things to do in the city of Daphne itself. Of course, since Mobile in only a short drive away, there are many fun and entertaining things to do there as well throughout the year. Various holiday festivals are the highlights of most of the social calendars in the area, with the 4th of July and the Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting topping the list. And of course, if you're lucky enough to be in Daphne when a Jubilee occurs, you're in for a real treat. No matter what time of year you find yourself in Daphne, though, you're sure to be able to find something fun and entertaining to do with the whole family.
